Next LEBTA Board MeetingMonday 28 February.  6pm.  Agenda items to admin@lebta.com.au    Draft minutes from January 2011 meeting are available.  Quick summary: 13 Board members present, ACCOG leases underway, Lakes Entrance Draft Foreshore Management Plan available from Shire, membership numbers, incentives to join, guest speakers including invitation for politician to attend meeting, future meeting with Shire Managers, Sea-Farers draft report, Skyshow draft report, Fishing Convention update.

LEBTA Monday 28 Feb meeting: This meeting will focus on a review of the role, purpose and activities of LEBTA.  With low membership, LEBTA need to look at what businesses in Lakes Entrance and surrounds need from an Association.  Ideas and suggestions from all members before Monday 28th are most welcome.  Email to admin@lebta.com.au

LAKES ENTRANCE DRAFT FORESHORE MANAGEMENT PLAN: Released on Monday 31 Jan. 2011.  Consultation meeting on Thursday 10 Feb at Palmers Road Shire Office.  Written submissions close Friday 11 March 2011.  Further details:  EGSC Website.

EGRBTA have offered to run a presentation on the use of electronic social networking (Facebook, Blogs, Twitter, websites) for businesses at a LEBTA meeting or special time. Feed back to Tim Ellis on content and prefered day.

EGRBTA are negioating with several sponsors to run an East Gippsland Business Awards with several catagories.  Further details: Tim Ellis.

Gippsland Ports are proposing to place electronic gates on Eastern Wharf to limit public access thus make a safer work environment for commercial vessels.  More information: Gippsland Ports.

 RECREATIONAL BOATING STRATEGY 2011-2016:  Public consultation meetings in February.  Further Information:  www.gcb.gov.au

Tourism Australia figures for 2010 show 5.9 million visitor arrivals to Australia.  A rise of 5.4% over 2009.

Lakes Entrance Goers Walking Action Group LEGWAG: 7am Walking group departs near the footbridge each day.  Contact Amcal Pharmacy.

VIDEO FOOTAGE:  A professional photographer was in Lakes Entrance on Tuesday 8th Feb to take high quality video footage.  Only indoor footage was taken to cloudy and windy weather.  Hopefully the photographer will return soon.
